Available exclusively to Deloraine Homestead are classes that are held on a regular basis involving qualified chefs and chocolatiers.
A group of eight to ten people gather in the kitchen to learn cooking secrets and share in the chef’s own recipes. During the day a delicious morning tea is served and then it is back to the kitchen for more hands on experiences to master the intricacies of various cuisines.
We then sit down to enjoy a lunch with silver service, excellent food, good wine and great conversation.

Our chocolate making class with Linda Komesaroff was a huge success and is still being talked about. Linda showed us the fine art of tempering coverture chocolate to get a great shine on the chocolate and instructed us in the chemistry of chocolate making. We then made the fillings, filled the molds with chocolate and watched in wonder as other people turned out some amazing creations. Best of all, we got to take home a box of chocolates to be shared with the family, not!
These classes are held on a regular basis and will be advertised on the web site.
Deloraine Homestead is available for small, intimate occasions such as a family celebration, afternoon tea with a group of friends, a special announcement or maybe a quiet dinner. Prices for these special services are available from Peta. |

We recently had a young couple staying here who used the lounge area on the Sunday to have a small family gathering where it was their great pleasure to announce their engagement. They have now booked their wedding with Deloraine Homestead and hopefully in a few years we will be celebrating a christening. |

Linda, the chocolatier from Wild Patch Chocolates has extraordinary chocolate making techniques! She made it look so simple. Only the best of everything – Belgian chocolate, high quality moulds and excellent fillings. Orange and hazelnut pastes, liqueurs – we were swimming in luxury. But the best aspect of all was the setting. Deloraine Homestead in the beautiful Upper Yarra Valley. Peta, who owns and runs Deloraine, had pulled out all the stops to make it a memorable experience for us. The morning tea table was groaning under the weight of home made fruit cake, chocolate fudge cake and cup cakes that were a joy to behold. When lunch was served, we were indulged yet again. Home made ham hock and vegetable soup with crusty bread rolls followed by apple pie accompanied by the piece de resistance, poached pears in a sauce that was sooooo delicious.
