The stunning hillside pavilion is an ideal building from which to make your wedding vows. It provides a spectacular alternative to garden and church weddings.

The venue suits both intimate and extravagant celebrations.

At Deloraine Homestead, your wedding will be unique, enjoyable and memorable - as any wedding should be. The following guidelines outline some of the possibilities that this stunning location provides.

Day One:

A perfect setting.

Settle into your accommodation, enjoy a glass of wine on the veranda with an anti-pasto platter and enjoy the view.

  • Your beauty therapist  arrives to prepare you for an extremely relaxing facial, which you will have in the comfort of your cottage, wrapped in a warmed, fluffy bathrobe. Aromatherapy oils heighten the mood of deep relaxation. If you have chosen to have your nails and a pedicure done this will happen at the same time. Gel or acrylic nails are an option but must be pre-booked. Soft music relaxes and soothes you.
  • The massage therapist arrives to enhance the experience of being nurtured and totally indulged. Aromatherapy, reflexology or deep tissue massage are some of your options.
  • We are extremely pleased to offer the services of a fully qualified and highly experienced counsellor / hypno- therapist who is available throughout the pre-wedding day and especially on the day of your wedding to give you total relaxation and well-being advice. If you choose, a half hour of gentle hypno-therapy will have you totally enjoying your wedding day as it will eliminate wedding nerves and centre and calm you. This is an innovative and unique option that has been available in the United State for a number of years. It is only available at Deloraine Homestead. Our therapist can talk through any concerns or fears that you may have in regard to the wedding day, your future life as a couple or even various relationship concerns that you may have.
  • This evening is dedicated to enjoying the quiet time. If you wish, a booking can be made at a nearby restaurant or you may wish to share finger foods and light snacks in the cottage with your bridesmaids and parents.
  • Also, by arrangement with Yarra Valley Caterers, a personal chef and waiter can be arranged to serve your group a delicious, personalised meal in our Victorian dining room.
  • A large screen plasma television will entertain you with our wide selection of DVDs.

What better way to prepare for your big day?

The Wedding Day

  • After a restful sleep, your hair and make-up specialists arrive. These people are experts in their field with whom you have already consulted as to how you would like your hair and make-up to be done. We are happy for you to have your own hairdresser and make-up artist if you wish. Breakfast is served in the house and it can be either a continental breakfast of cereal, croissants, tea and coffee or a more substantial fully cooked breakfast.
  • Once the bride and her attendants are ready, wedding photos can be taken inside Deloraine Homestead the or, by prior arrangement, the bride and her bridesmaids can be driven to the Blue Lotus Water Gardens 2 kilometres away for magnificent wedding photos in a variety of settings. These gardens are spectacular, especially the water lily lakes.
  • The bride arrives back at Deloraine Homestead after all the guests have arrived, to make her way to either the wedding pavilion or the lych gate, where her future husband is waiting.
  • The wedding breakfast takes place in a beautiful marquee decorated to the couples exacting specifications. This is done in consultation with Betta Party Hire.
  • No later than 12.00 am guests depart and the couple return to the cottage, which has now been transformed, into a romantic honeymoon suite. Special requests of wine, chocolates or flowers are welcomed.
  • By prior arrangement, the families of both the bride and groom can come back to the venue the next day and enjoy a bar-b-que and some relaxing time together. Usually the marquee will still be erected, so you can take advantage of this and sit down to eat and talk.
  • A late check out ensures that you make the most of your time with us. We wish you all the best as you continue your journey together as husband and wife.
